Troon Country Club has a long tradition of supporting charitable causes and the Junior Golf Association. This summer is continuing that tradition by providing two of their current staff members to assist the Junior Golf Association of Arizona as summer interns. Both Troon Country Club employees are working toward their PGA Class A certification. The two employees are Min Park and Kyle Epperson. The JGAA is very grateful to the Troon Scholarship Foundation and the Troon Country Club for their generosity and support of junior golf. The Troon Scholarship Foundation funds scholarships for Troon Country Club employees and their dependents.
Min Park has been on staff with Troon Country Club for three years and will be an official Class A PGA Professional in two weeks once he completes his PGA Level 3 exam. Min, originally from Seattle, graduated from Cornish College of Art in Seattle and worked for Microsoft for one year before moving to Phoenix to pursue a career in the golf industry. He graduated from the Golf Academy of America in Chandler (formerly known as the San Diego Golf Academy) three years ago. At Troon Country Club, Min has been teaching at the Bill Forest Golf Academy the last two years.
Kyle Epperson has been on staff with Troon for nine months, and is currently enrolled at the Arizona State University PGM Program and is due to graduate next spring. Originally from Seattle, Kyle moved to Arizona before his freshman year in high school and graduated from Cactus Shadows High School in 2004. Before transferring to Arizona State University, he played golf for one year at Pima Community College. Kyle’s goal is to be a PGA teaching professional once he graduates from the ASU PGM program.
