Sanctuary Golf Course to be Remodeled

Troon residents who love to golf other nearby golf courses will be delighted to hear that the Sanctuary Golf Course is undergoing a $1 Million renovation.  The Sanctuary Golf Course is only 10 minutes from Troon Scottsdale. It is tucked into McDowell Mountain Ranch. The renovation will add length to the 6,624-yard course and reposition the fairways. The tees will stretch 7,000 yards when it reopens in October. Sanctuary was purchased last year by PGA golfer Phil Mickelson, his agent, and other investors. The course is considered a hidden gem in Scottsdale.

There has been confusion in the past with the name resembling the Sanctuary Resort in Paradise Valley AZ. The course will thus also change the name when it reopens. It will soon be called the McDowell Mountain Golf Club.
