Last week, Troon Country Club hosted the PGA Southwest Section’s Arizona Senior Open, though the excitement won’t die down just yet. The 2014 Arizona Open begins tomorrow, August 21st through August 23rd, and will be held on the same renowned golf course at Troon Country Club.
Tom Weiskopf and Jay Morrish’s Scottsdale masterpiece has been the site for a number of prestigious tournaments in the past, including the U.S. Mid-Amateur Championship, the Merrill Lynch Shootout and the Ping Pro Scratch. The pair’s first ever design, the Troon Counry Club golf course will once again challenge both professional and amateur players in the Arizona Open. The course’s challenging yet versatile design is inspired by the Royal Troon in Scotland, though its beauty and drama are unique to the Sonoran Desert.
