It’s that time of year when temperatures drop and hikers take advantage of the numerous trails around Troon. Hiking Pinnacle Peak is one of the most popular activities for those living in Troon North. The park will be hosting Moonlight Walks in the coming months. Anyone wanting to visit the park after hours and catch a view of the stars from the mountain is welcome to join in on any of the scheduled hikes. Participants will be guided up a moderate, scenic trail to the Grandview area of Pinnacle Peak Park just as the moon rises. The 1.5 mile hike takes approximately an hour and a half. Below is the schedule for upcoming Moonlight Walks, beginning this Saturday:
Saturday, October 19th at 6:30 p.m.
Sunday, November 17th at 6 p.m.
Tuesday, December 17th at 5:45 p.m.
Wednesday, January 15th at 6:15 p.m.
Friday, February 14th at 6:30 p.m.
Sunday, March 16th at 6:45 p.m.
Monday, April 14th at 7:15 p.m.
Keep in mind that Moonlight Walks may be canceled if it is rainy or overcast. In addition, registration is required to participate in any Moonlight Walks.
Pinnacle Peak Park is hosting a wide array of activities this season from hikes and guided tours to special exhibits and presentations. Enjoy an exciting family afternoon or evening, and learn something new about the diverse ecosystem that exists throughout Troon North.
